April 22 through April 28, 2012: Administrative Professionals Week and Day

WHEREAS, according to the U.S. Department of Labor, there are more than 4.1 million administrative assistants, secretaries, executive assistants and office managers working in our nation today; and,  


WHEREAS, because of their discipline and organizational skills, administrative professionals contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of any office environment; and,


WHEREAS, Administrative Professionals Week and Day has been officially recognized and celebrated since 1952 and is one of the largest workplace observances in the U.S.; and,


WHEREAS, during this week and on this day, we join with employers throughout the state to recognize the many contributions of Michigan's administrative professionals, thanking them for their dedication and service to business, government, educational institutions and other organizations;


NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim Sunday, April 22 through Saturday, April 28, 2012 as Administrative Professionals Week, and Wednesday, April 25, 2012 as Administrative Professionals Day in Michigan.
