WHEREAS, radiologic technologists obtain extensive education and training which typically leads to a certificate, associate's degree or bachelor's degree, and in most states, additional licensure and certification is required; and,
WHEREAS, the radiologic technologist field is divided into several groups, including diagnostic radiology, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, radiation therapy, C.T. scanning and M.R.I. imaging; radiologic technologists are a vital part of the medical team, serving in both clinics and hospitals; and,
WHEREAS, during this week, we join with the Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists to recognize radiologic technologists serving in the Great Lakes State; we encourage all citizens to learn more about careers in radiologic technology;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim Sunday, September 9 through Saturday, September 15, 2012 as Radiologic Technologists Week in Michigan.
