WHEREAS, more than 70 percent of young Americans envision starting a business or doing something entrepreneurial as adults; and,
WHEREAS, entrepreneurship is critical to success in the workplace and in communities as it brings ideas, creativity and innovation to life and drives economic growth on local, state and national levels; and,
WHEREAS, entrepreneurship encourages job creation and is a vital part of Michigan's reinvention and continued growth; and,
WHEREAS, during this week and as we work toward a better Michigan, we encourage youth and all citizens throughout the state to explore innovative ways in which entrepreneurship education can bring together the core academic, technical and problem solving skills essential for the success of our state's future entrepreneurs;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim Saturday, February 15 through Saturday, February 22, 2014 as Entrepreneurship Week in Michigan.
