WHEREAS, more than 70 percent of young Americans envision starting a business or doing something entrepreneurial as adults; and,
WHEREAS, entrepreneurship is critical to success in the workplace and in communities as it brings ideas, creativity and innovation to life and drives economic growth on local, state and national levels; and,
WHEREAS, entrepreneurship encourages job creation and is a vital part of Michigan's reinvention and continued growth; and,
WHEREAS, during this week and as we work toward a better Michigan, we encourage youth and all citizens throughout the state to explore innovative ways in which entrepreneurship education can bring together the core academic, technical and problem solving skills essential for the success of our state's future entrepreneurs; and,
WHEREAS, the National Governors Association encourages connecting education to economic growth industries, recognizing that entrepreneurship and small business creation are the growth engines of any economy;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim February 18 through February 25, 2015 as Entrepreneurship Week in Michigan.
