November 8-14, 2015: Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week

WHEREAS, the purpose of Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week is to increase public awareness of the safe and proper use of elevators, escalators and moving walkways; and,

WHEREAS, the goal of this week is to reduce, through education and awareness, avoidable accidents; and,

WHEREAS, the elevator industry greatly contributes to the quality of life; and,

WHEREAS, this endeavor is worthy of support and cooperation to benefit the citizens, the general public and the short range vertical transportation industry;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Rick Snyder, governor of Michigan, do hereby proclaim November 8-14, 2015 as National Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week.
