Replacements Under Consideration to Lead DLEG
LANSING – Governor Jennifer M. Granholm issued the following statement on today’s announcement by Director of Labor and Economic Development David Hollister that he will step down from his post February 3.
“Dave Hollister has been a driving force in our efforts to strengthen and diversify Michigan’s economy, and I am indebted for all he has given this administration in the past three years,” Granholm said. “I share his pride in the milestones we have achieved despite limited resources. I consider it the ultimate endorsement of our agenda that two initiatives we have embraced and promoted – alternative energy and regional collaboration and cooperation – are at the heart of his next venture. Michigan is only as strong as the sum of its parts. Dave Hollister’s commitment to growing mid-Michigan’s regional economy is one more reason to be confident about Michigan’s future.”
Granholm was informed of Director Hollister’s decision before the holidays, and names for his replacement are already under consideration. An announcement on the department’s leadership will be made at the appropriate time.
