LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Scott Idle of East Lansing to the Early Stage Venture Investment Corporation Board of Directors.
Established in 2003, the seven-member board encourages a healthy economic climate by fostering job creation, retention and expansion through the promotion of investment in venture capital businesses, specializing in early stage and seed investments. Two of the board positions are filled through recommendations to the Governor from the Senate Majority Leader and Speaker of the House.
“I thank Scott for his commitment to Michigan’s economy and I am confident his experience will serve this board well,” Snyder said.
Idle is the CEO of Mid-Michigan Collection Bureau and Congress Collection, and the owner of Sidle Entertainment. He is the current president of the Michigan Association of Collection Agencies. Idle holds a bachelor’s degree in communication arts and sciences from Michigan State University. He will serve as the nominee of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and replace Peter Farner.
Idle will serve a three-year term expiring June 13, 2020. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
