For years, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has created practical programs and materials geared toward helping Michigan residents quit smoking. If you or someone you love needs to quit smoking, please take advantage of our FREE resources.

  • Michigan Tobacco Quitline
    Offers free information, tobacco treatment referral, online program, and text-messaging 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669) in English or 1-855-DÉJELO-YA (1-855-335-3569) in Spanish. Free counseling and nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) may be available to certain callers. Special offerings include programs for prenatal and youth commercial tobacco users. Counseling is available in English, Spanish and Arabic.
     
  • Michigan Tobacco Control Program
    Includes a wide variety of resources and research about commercial tobacco use, prevention and quitting; various types of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes; preventing youth from starting to smoke; tobacco-related disparities; and the dangers of secondhand and thirdhand smoke exposure.
     
  • Michigan's Smoke-Free Indoor Air Law
    Presents detailed information about the law, answers to frequently asked questions, tools for businesses, media resources, enforcement guidance, violations reporting information, and summaries of other Michigan laws related to commercial tobacco use.
