August 7, 2012 - Albemarle Corporation's South Haven facility will receive the Rising Star Award from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), at a special ceremony Friday, August 10, 2012, 10:30 a.m., 1421 Kalamazoo St., South Haven, MI 49090.
The Michigan Voluntary Protection Programs (MVPP) Rising Star Award is given to companies that have an outstanding safety and health management system in place and have the desire and commitment to achieve the highest level, the Michigan Star Award. Only employers with the best safety and health programs are eligible for the MVPP Program. The MIOSHA program is part of the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
MIOSHA Director Martha Yoder will present the MVPP Rising Star Award to Albemarle South Haven Plant Manager Dru Manuel, who will accept on behalf of all South Haven employees. Albemarle corporate officials, employees and guests will attend the award presentation and reception.
Albemarle Corporation, headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is a leading global developer, manufacturer, and marketer of highly-engineered specialty chemicals. The South Haven facility employs 126 workers and is a chemical manufacturer of intermediate and active pharmaceutical ingredients, food additives, and custom chemicals.
