LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Agency for Energy today announced it is sponsoring an energy storage conference to learn about the potential of energy storage in Michigan’s electric market.
The event – a collaboration with the Michigan Energy Office and the Michigan Public Service Commission – will be from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 25, at the MAE offices in Lansing.
“Energy storage – like the project underway in Grand Rapids – has the potential to revolutionize energy markets around the country,” said Madhu Anderson, MAE deputy director. “The Plugging into Storage day-long conference will highlight what utilities and regulators should consider when incorporating energy storage into the market, as well as the challenges they face.”
The conference topics will include:
There is no cost to attend the conference, which will be at the MAE offices at 7109 W. Saginaw Highway, Lansing. Lunch will be provided.
Attendees are asked to register here by 5 p.m. March 21.
Join the conversation before, during and after the conference by using the #energystorage hashtag.
In 2018, the Michigan Senate passed Senate Resolution 170 and the Michigan House of Representatives passed Resolution 387, both directing MAE to hold a “collaborative discussion” on the potential to integrate energy storage into Michigan’s electric market
