FEBRUARY 20, 2007 - The Michigan Liquor Control Commission, The Century Council, and Nickelodeon™ will be teaming up with Congressman Dale Kildee for an "Ask, Listen, Learn" alcohol education and prevention event. The event will be held on Thursday, February 22nd at the Wittier Classical Academy in Flint Michigan. The program was designed by a team of educators and psychologists specializing in middle school-aged students with the goal of developing effective conversation strategies about alcohol.

With funding from both Nickelodeon™, a household name in high-quality children's programming, and The Century Council, a national not-for-profit organization, funded by the nation's leading distillers, dedicated to alcohol education and prevention, the "Ask, Listen, Learn" campaign offers discussion tools like games, brochures and an internet site http://www.centurycouncil.org/underage/asklistenlearn.html dedicated to helping parents and other adults talk frankly and effectively with young people about alcohol.

The "Ask, Listen, Learn" event follows on the heels of Congressman Kildee's recent designation by the Children's Defense Fund Action Council as one of the "Best Representatives for Children".
