Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
This page is designed to help understand the criteria and process for filing a complaint against a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) working in a long-term care facility (nursing home). The goal of the complaint process is to help protect vulnerable residents in nursing facilities from abuse, neglect and misappropriation of property by nurse aides.
The Bureau of Community and Health Systems is charged with reviewing, investigating and possibly placing findings on the Nurse Aide Registry if substantiated.
Note: Only allegations of neglect, abuse and misappropriation of resident property by a CNA working in a nursing facility will be processed. Other types of allegations against a CNA will not be investigated.
