Licensing and Regulatory Affairs
Welcome to the Michigan Board of Behavior Analysts! Our goal is to provide up-to-date information on various topics related to the practice of applied behavior analysis in Michigan. We hope you find this information helpful and invite you to check out our website often.
Recent legislation effective April 3, 2017 has amended the Michigan Public Health Code (Code), 1978 PA 368. Pursuant to 2016 PA 403, MCL 333.18251, behavior analyst means an individual who is licensed or otherwise authorized under Part 182A of the Code to engage in the practice of applied behavior analysis.
Pursuant to MCL 333.18254, by April 3, 2019, the Department, in consultation with the Board, shall promulgate rules to establish the minimum standards for licensure as a behavior analyst. Once rules have been promulgated our website will be updated accordingly to include a licensure application along with supporting licensing guides and FAQs.
