LANSING, Mich. – There are only a few days left to register for the Michigan Agency for Energy’s Plugging into Storage conference on March 25.
The deadline to sign up to attend is 5 p.m., Thursday, March 21.
The conference – to be livestreamed (click on the link to watch) -- will examine the potential of energy storage in Michigan’s electric market. It runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Agency for Energy’s offices, 7109 W. Saginaw Highway, Lansing.

Also to be highlighted during the conference will be two Michigan energy storage projects: the Circuit West project in Grand Rapids and Michigan Technology University’s study of a possible project using an abandoned mine in the Upper Peninsula for underground pumped hydroelectric storage.

In 2018, the Michigan Senate passed Senate Resolution 170 and the Michigan House of Representatives passed Resolution 387, both directing the MAE to hold a “collaborative discussion” on the potential to integrate energy storage into Michigan’s electric market.
