NEW - 22 MIOSHA Standards Updated

CS Part 6 - Personal Protective Equipment - effective March 16, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended CS Part 6, in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA. 

GI Part 62 - Plastic Molding - effective March 26, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 62, for lockout and guarding to reflect current technologies used in the industry and to review for clarity and consistency.

CS Part 8 - Handling & Storage of Materials - effective March 29, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended CS Part 8, in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

CS Part 21 - Guarding of Walking and Working Areas - effective March 29, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended CS Part 21, in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, minor editorial and formatting changes were made.

CS Part 603 - Lead in Construction - effective March 29, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended CS Part 603, in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

CS Part 604 - Chromium(VI) in Construction - effective March 29, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended CS Part 604, in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

CS Part 22 - Signals, Signs, Tags, and Barricades - effective March 30, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended CS Part 22 in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

CS Part 602 - Asbestos in Construction - effective March 30, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended CS Part 602 in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

GI Part 303 - Methylenedianiline (MDA) in General Industry - effective March 30, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 303 in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

GI & CS Part 304 - Ethylene Oxide - effective March 30, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI & CS Part 304 in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

GI & CS Part 306 - Formaldehyde - effective March 30, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI & CS Part 306 in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

GI & CS Part 307 - Acrylonitrile - effective March 30, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI & CS Part 307 in order to be as effective as federal OSHA. In addition, this rule set is amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.  

GI Part 340 - Beryllium in General Industry - effective March 31, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 340 and CS Part 640, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1024, "Beryllium" and 29 CFR 1926.1124, "Beryllium".  Also, on 07/14/2020, the Department of Labor published a Federal Register notice on the Final Rule on the Beryllium Standard for General Industry, effective 09/14/2020.  As discussed in Section XI, Summary and Explanation of the Final Rule, the majority of the changes made by this final rule will clarify certain provisions and simplify or improve employer compliance. 

CS Part 640 - Beryllium in Construction - effective March 31, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 340 and CS Part 640, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1024, "Beryllium" and 29 CFR 1926.1124, "Beryllium".  In addition, these rule sets are amended in order to clarify certain provisions and simplify or improve employer compliance under the State Plan Requirements: Notice of Intent and Adoption Required. The Department of Labor published a Federal Register notice on the Final Rule on the Beryllium Standard for Construction and Shipyards, effective 09/30/2020.

GI & CS Part 308 - Inorganic Arsenic - effective March 31, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI & CS Part 308, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1018, "Inorganic Arsenic". In addition, these rule sets are amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

GI & CS Part 313 - Methylene Chloride - effective March 31, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI & CS Part 313, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1052, "Methylene Chloride". In addition, these rule sets are amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

GI Part 472 - Medical Services and First Aid - effective March 31, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 472, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1926.50 "Medical Services and First Aid". In addition, these rule sets are amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

GI Part 590 - Silica in General Industry - effective March 31, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 590, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1053, "Respirable Crystalline Silica". In addition, these rule sets are amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

GI Part 309 - Cadmium in General Industry - effective April 13, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 309, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1027, "Cadmium".  In addition, these rule sets are being amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

GI Part 310 - Lead in General Industry - effective April 13, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 310, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1025, "Lead".  In addition, these rule sets are being amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

GI & CS Part 314 - Coke Oven Emissions - effective April 13, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI & CS Part 314, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1029, "Coke Oven Emissions".  In addition, these rule sets are being amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.

GI Part 315 - Chromium (VI) in General Industry - effective April 13, 2021 - MIOSHA has amended GI Part 315, in order to be as effective as the federal OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.1026, "Chromium (VI)".  In addition, these rule sets are being amended in order to make editorial and administrative revisions and required under the standard improvement project issued by federal OSHA.
