Why did I receive an email saying I needed to reapply for my PUA benefits?

Because you are eligible for a new claim, your current PUA entitlement will be stopped. You are encouraged to file your new claim as soon as possible. Login to your Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM), follow the link under "Account Alerts" to file your new claim.

You are encouraged to use the off-peak times between 8 p.m. - 8 a.m. to file your claim.

Once your new regular claim is established, you will still be entitled to receive the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC). FPUC is the additional $600 weekly payment that is also payable as part of the CARES Act. This additional $600 is payable through the week ending July 25, 2020 or when your benefit entitlement expires, which ever date comes first.
