When do Extended Benefits begin, and how long will they be available?

Extended Benefits begin when you first exhaust all 26 weeks of traditional UI and 13 weeks of PEUC. Michigan began paying eligible EB claims on July 4, 2020. The EB period will end whenever the state Insured Unemployment Rate (IUR) drops below the EB trigger levels or the Total Unemployment Rate drops below 8.0% in Michigan. EB provides up to 20 weeks of additional unemployment benefits.
