Julia Dale
Director, Unemployment Insurance Agency
Julia Dale has more than 20 years of service to the residents of the state of Michigan in leadership and management roles throughout government. Dale was appointed as director of the Unemployment Insurance Agency, where she will direct a staff of approximately 700 that is committed to excellence in serving the residents of Michigan.
Dale's extensive career, education and training give her the tools to focus on helping all Michiganders and provide exceptional customer service to residents and businesses.
Dale was serving as the director at the Department of Technology, Management and Budget when she was appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to lead the UIA. Dale, who holds a law degree from Wayne State University and is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University, previously worked as an Assistant Attorney General and Section Head of the Department of Attorney General's Business and Charities Section.
Prior to her role with the Attorney General, Dale served as Policy Specialist, Division Director, Deputy Bureau Director and Bureau Director of the Corporations, Securities and Commercial Licensing Bureau Director at the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. While at LARA, Dale also served as Securities Administrator and Cemetery Commissioner. She started her public service career as a Civil Rights Representative and Manager for the Michigan Department of Civil Rights.
