The Bureau of Services for Blind Persons Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) help students aged 14 and over to successfully make the transition from high school to postsecondary education or employment.

This information is intended for Teacher Counselors of Visually Impaired Students in the school system who are referring eligible or potentially eligible students for Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS). Please send your information to your local BSBP office.

Post Secondary Readiness Program
Before an Individual Plan for Employment is developed that includes the use of (Michigan) Bureau of Services for Blind Persons resources for college, the individual must demonstrate his or her ability to function in the academic environment. The Post Secondary Readiness Program has been developed to measure a student's preparedness for college, specifically in the areas of communication skills, note taking, technology skills, travel, and activities of daily living.

Monthly Family Newsletter!!
BSBP staff asked parents, students and school staff how we can build stronger partnerships and improve our ability to boost student success and the feedback has been amazing. This monthly newsletter is a response to the feedback and one of a few new initiatives we are trying out!
We intend for this to be a fun one stop shop for BSBP student news and information - from info and sign up for free programs to important deadlines and fun activities.

Pre-ETS Brochure
Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) are available to eligible and potentially eligible blind and visually impaired students aged 14 - 26 who live in Michigan.
College Prep Program
Students who are blind or visually impaired have an opportunity for a college experience prior to becoming full-time students. The program is designed to provide BSBP consumers with training and skills needed to become successful full-time college students. Students will take online academic classes from WMU, and BSBP staff will provide Pre-ETS instruction toward college readiness.
