Katrina Burton

Katrina Burton embodies the core values of Michigan’s workforce by starting off her journey as a good standing member of the United Auto Workers (UAW), as well as a family line of UAW members of Michigan’s auto industry. Katrina prides herself on being an active member of the Order of the Eastern Stars (OES) chapter. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration Management.
Katrina has been employed with the Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) for 20 years where she has had various roles. Prior to becoming a community liaison, she served as a lead worker in the Detroit Local Office tasked with assisting examiners on customer inquiries of concern, explaining policy and procedures, and deciding eligibility cases to resolve various issues. Katrina’s subject matter expertise has landed her the role of being a presenter for worker orientations since 2019.
As a Community Liaison, Katrina’s vision is to tackle workforce issues and barriers holding back financial independence by promoting and streamlining workforce development in the areas of need.
Katrina's area of service is Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
