Student Success Manager
Jayshona Hicks is the Student Success Manager for the Office of Sixty by 30, managing the Michigan Reconnect Navigator program and the state's effort to increase college enrollment and completion and addressing barriers to student success in postsecondary educational attainment. She has served in state government for over eight years with experience in public policy, community advocacy, legislative services, constituent relations, and case management.
Inspired by her family and community, Jayshona is passionate about racial and economic equity, and implementing government policies and programs designed to build wealth and prosperity for all. Her dedicated service and extensive background in legislative services, public policy and community advocacy has earned her the Senate District Leadership Award (2017), Legislative Staffer of the Year Nominee (2018) and a feature in the Michigan Chamber of Commerce Lead Like a Woman series (2019). Jayshona holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Michigan State University and a master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
