Time Travel Club: Bring Children’s History Programming to your Library
Join children’s librarian Elizabeth Stinnette for a discussion of history programming for kids. Discover how to make history fun with engaging, hands-on activities that both you and they will enjoy. We’ll also discuss strategies for community partnerships, integrating diverse cultures, and adapting for various sizes of staff and budget. Additionally, check out the handout for more resources, including a program plan, book lists, and activity ideas. History doesn’t belong in the past—bring it to the present with a little bit of time travel!
As a result of this program, attendees will learn:
- Why history programming is as important as STEAM programming
- How to come up with history program themes and activities
- How to enlist community members and teen volunteers as programming allies
- How to highlight under-represented cultures with respect
- How to make children’s history programming work for your branch
Start: May 24, 2023 2:00 PM
End: May 24, 2023 3:00 PM
