The Brownstown Police Department is hiring full time Police Officers. Starting pay after FTO is $23.94 per hour, or $52,285 annually. We are offering lateral pay for those with full time current experience up to $30.92, per hour or $67,529 annually for those working the 12-hour work schedule. Top pay for those on the 12-hour schedule is $36.16 per hour, or $76,549 ($80,546 for laterals w. 2 years) annually. Brownstown is a growing Community of 33000 residents and covers 23 square miles of land and approximately 8 square miles of Lake Erie. We are looking for motivated, community minded Police Officers who are looking to serve this growing community in southern Wayne County. We offer a MERS B-4 Defined Benefit Pension with a 2.5 multiplier, Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Benefits, Optical, Dental, paid vacation, personal, and sick days, and have 14 paid Holidays annually.
All applicants must be MCOLES licensed/licensable, or currently attending an MCOLES certified police academy. Must be a High School Graduate or have obtained a GED. Candidates must also be a United States Citizen, be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and be free of felony convictions. Candidates must pass an oral interview, a report writing sample, and pass an extensive background investigation to be considered.
