Roscommon County Central Dispatch is seeking applications for a full time Emergency-911 Dispatcher.
Preferred applicants would currently possess or have the ability to obtain within 12 months of starting employment:
- Basic and Advanced 40 Hour Dispatching courses for the state of Michigan
- EMD certified through IAED Priority Dispatch Academy
- DeWolf CTO certification (optional but preferred)
This position handles public safety emergencies and administrative calls as well as dispatching for all 23 Law/Fire/EMS Agencies within Roscommon County. Candidates must possess the ability to quickly and accurately analyze fast moving information and rapidly formulate effective responses to emergency situations all while operating multiple computer and communications systems.
Lateral candidates are highly encouraged and welcome! We will honor your experience and skill level to determine your advancement from your starting point in our training series at a faster pace that will be driven by your individual performance and initiative.
New hires must successfully complete a training program and a 12-month probationary period. The position works various 12-hour shifts, including nights, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Wage Based on experience level at hire date. Base pay is $16.70 with benefits beginning on the 1st of the month following 39 days of employment.
