Mackinac County Sheriff's Office: Corrections Deputy Closing Date: March 31, 2023


The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office has a full time opening and is currently accepting applications/resumes for the position of Corrections Deputy.    Applicants are expected to pass written, physical, mental health and drug screening tests in addition to a background investigation and oral interview. 


Applicants must successfully pass the Michigan Sheriffs’ Coordinating and Training Council (MSCTC) Local Corrections Officer Physical Ability Test (LCOPAT) and the EMPCO written exam.  Cost of above two tests will be reimbursed if hired up to $125.00 maximum.  

Applicants are required to meet the hiring standards for Michigan Local Corrections Officers as set by the Michigan Sheriff’s Coordinating and Training Council.  Paid 160 hour Local Corrections Academy will be provided.  These standards can be found at:

Pay and Benefits:

Starting pay from $18.80 - $19.30 depending on experience. Health care, including medical/dental/vision insurance is provided by the employer with the option of an opt out bonus.  Vested retirement after 6 years that includes up to 9% employer contribution.  Longevity pay after six years of employment. Sick, vacation and personal days are also included.  Uniforms are provided.
