Full Time Road Patrol Opening

The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office will be accepting applications for the position of Road Patrol Deputy. Applicants must have completed an MCOLES approved basic police academy and be eligible to be licensed as a law enforcement officer, 2 years experience is preferred but not required. A list of qualified candidates will be maintained for any open positions for one year.

Potential candidates will have the opportunity for special assignments such as participating in our multijurisdictional narcotics team (KIND), our multijurisdictional SWAT Team (CIRT), ORV/Marine/Snowmobile patrols and work very closely with the Detective on special cases.

Salary/Benefits:

  • Current Salary range for 2023 is a starting rate of $24.09 and tops out at $28.95 after 3 years (plus 2% raise through contract year 2025).  Rate is negotiable dependent on years of experience.
  • Excellent Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance (Currently through MESSA).
  • MERS Defined Contribution Plan with 10% Employer contribution and a 5% Employee contribution. Employee contribution is vested immediately and the Employer contribution shall have a 3 year vesting schedule.
  • 457 Deferred Compensation Plans available.
  • $1,600 Uniform Allowance paid quarterly.
  • Competitive Paid Time Off including holidays, sick, vacation, personal leave and compensatory time.
  • $500 monthly stipend to purchase Health Insurance upon retirement.
