Norton Shores Police Department: Police Cadet (Part-Time) Closing Date: March 3, 2023

This position is perfect for Criminal Justice students seeking experience and practical skills. With schedules that can be modified to the needs of college students, opportunities exist for part-time work, both year-round and seasonally. During the traditional school year, Cadets will primarily work in the front office in a customer service capacity. From Memorial Day to Labor Day (peak season), Cadets will help conduct proactive patrols the City's park system. Internship credits can also be earned with participating Universities/Colleges.  

Duties can include (but are not limited to):

• Customer Service at the police lobby
• Records management
• Patrol City Parks
• Enforce City Ordinances
• Seasonal and year-round opportunities available

Minimum Requirements:

• 18 years of age
• High School Diploma
• Valid Michigan operator's license
• Clean criminal history record
• Current criminal justice students preferred
