The Village of Sparta Police Department located at 260 W Division street Sparta, MI 49321 will accept applications for a full-time Police Officer through 5pm on the closing date listed.
Applicants must be MCOLES licensed or licensable and may submit their resume, cover letter and Village of Sparta application (found on Village website) to the email listed.
Selected applicants will participate in an oral board interview. Applicants who advance will be subject to a heath physical and drug screening, psychological examination and comprehensive background investigation.
Full benefit package includes the following, however this is not a comprehensive list, MERS Defined Contribution Retirement Plan with an employee contribution of 5% and a 10% Village contribution, health, dental, vision, life insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave program. Starting pay is $47,008.00. Top pay is achieved after 4 years of service. The current contract provides top pay of $69,659.20. Chosen qualified applicant may start at a higher rate on the pay scale depending on training and experience.
