The City of Frankfort is seeking qualified candidates for the position of part-time seasonal police officer.
Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for the safety of the public, protection of property and police patrols in the City of Frankfort. Officers are also responsible for the enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, and for responding to the public's need for emergency and non-emergency police service.
Supervisory Controls: Under the command of the Chief of Police.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must meet or exceed all M.C.O.L.E.S. standards for employment as a police officer in the State of Michigan.
- Associates degree or minimum 60 hours college credit from an accredited college or university is preferred.
- Must possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
- Working knowledge of state and federal laws, local ordinances, and other regulations governing police authority.
- Good communication skills (both oral and written).
- Maintain the physical, mental, and emotional ability to perform essential job duties and functions.
- Be proactive, and be able to identify, initiate, and solve public safety and community problems.
Wages:
$20.50 an hour, 30 hour per week, Employment term from April to mid-September 2023.
