St. Ignace Police Department: Police Officer Closing Date: December 31, 2023

We’re hiring!  Become a protector of our community right here in beautiful St. Ignace, known as the gateway to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  Join our dedicated team of law enforcement professionals.  To receive consideration, three (3) to five (5) years of police experience is preferred; however, recent MCOLES graduates or candidates with less experience will be considered.  The applicant must have good interpersonal-public relation skills and be able to work a variety of shifts; including holidays and weekends.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment.
  • Possess a valid Michigan driver's license with satisfactory driving record and have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have obtained valid MCOLES license or be licensable.
  • No Felony convictions.  Misdemeanor convictions will be screened on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Must submit to and pass an interview, background investigation, physical examination and psychological examination.
