Oscoda County Sheriff's Office: Deputy Sheriff Closing Date: December 1, 2023

The Oscoda County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications to fill a vacant full time Deputy Sheriff (Road Patrol) position.
To apply for this position applicants should be MCOLES licensed or licensable.  

Starting Wage/Compensation: $20.03/Hour (84 hour pay period) plus Healthcare and MERS B-4 Pension retirement. Applicants with prior law enforcement experience will be considered to start at a higher rate of pay depending on experience up to $21.94/ per hour based on the current union contract.

A newly hired Deputy without Law Enforcement experience will be given personal time at the time of hire based on the current POAM union contract.  A newly hired Deputy with prior law enforcement experience will be considered to receive both personal and vacation time at the time of hire based on the current POAM contract.

Candidates must be MCOLES licensed or eligible for licensing and meet the following departmental requirements:

  • 21 years of age
  • No prior felony convictions
  • Valid Mi Operator's License
  • US Citizen
  • Meet all MCOLES employment standards
