The River Rouge Public Safety Department is seeking applicants for the position of Public Safety Officer in the City of River Rouge. Officers answer calls for Police, Fire, and medical emergencies while always striving to provide respect and care to the citizens they serve. As our department is growing so are our career opportunities including but not limited to: Detective Bureau, Crime Scene Unit, Armory Unit, Bicycle Patrol Unit, Motorcycle Unit and Task Force Assignments.
Salary Range is between 50,000 to 72,000 with health, dental and vision starting on Day 1. The department offers a competitive benefits package that includes MERS Pension, paid vacation, and sick days, paid training along with pre-service police academy tuition reimbursement. Several other bonuses are also available including a variety overtime opportunities. New contract in 2024 with even more opportunities!
