Metro Police Authority of Genesee County: Police Officer & School Safety Officer (Full & Part-time) Closing Date: August 31, 2024

The Metro Police Authority of Genesee County, which serves the municipalities of Mundy Charter Township and the City of Swartz Creek, is seeking applicants for full and part-time positions of Patrol Officer and School Safety Officer. The Metro Police Authority serves a growing community of approximately 40 square miles with a population of 21,000. Our jurisdiction includes three interstates, commercial districts and an economically diverse residential base.   

Full-time Officers work a 12-hour schedule and enjoy a comprehensive benefit package including up to 5 weeks vacation time, medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a MERS Hybrid pension and retiree health insurance.  Effective January 1, 2024 the full-time wage is $73,500 after 5 years plus longevity pay. Lateral transfers are encouraged.

Part-time Patrol and School Safety Officers wage is currently $23.86 per hour with all uniforms, equipment and training provided. Patrol schedules are flexible. Officers assigned to School Safety provide security at schools throughout the Swartz Creek School District and assist the School Resource Officer as needed.
