Salary: $46,476.94 - $52,359.52

Buena Vista Charter Township is seeking qualified applicants for employment with the Buena Vista Charter Township Police Department. 

Major Duties:

To provide safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people, property, enforcing motor vehicle, and criminal laws, and promoting good community relations.

Qualifications:

• Must be a United States Citizen
• Must be 21 years of age
• Possess an Associate’s Degree or higher
• Have a valid Michigan Driver’s License
• Must have successfully completed an MCOLES approved program
• Must be licensed/licensable
• Must have had no convictions of felony crimes or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude
• Must have had no convictions for serious traffic infractions over the proceedings (5) years 
• Must have no convictions for serious traffic infractions over the preceding (5) years
• Be free from any physical defects, chronic diseases, organic diseases, organic or functional conditions, or mental and emotional instabilities which may tend to impair the efficient performance of duties or which might endanger the lives of others or the individual employee. Must produce a passing MCOLES physical fitness certificate obtained within the preceding (12) months of the applicant’s interview date.

Employees in this job classification are subject to the terms and provisions of the labor agreement in effect between Buena Vista Charter Township and the Police Officers Labor Council, and any amendments, additions, deletions and/or revisions thereto which may be made from time to time.
