Richland Township Police Department: School Resource Officer/Sworn Police Officer Closing Date: January 12, 2024

The Richland Township Police Department is in seek of qualified candidates for the position of a School Resource Officer/Sworn Police Officer. This position is within the Police Department and is charged with creating a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The School Resource Officer/Sworn Police Officer must meet Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certification. This position works to educate the school district regarding safety and security, minimize risk for the students, faculty, staff, and visitors and enforce all local laws and laws of the State of Michigan.


Responsible for enforcement duties for the protection, safety, and welfare of students, faculty, staff, and visitors and all property within the area under the control and jurisdiction of Hemlock Public School District and Richland Township. Given the nature of the position, this position is responsible for crucial confidential data. S/he is expected to exercise sound judgment on issues that arise.


$22.00 - $24.00 per hour based upon experience

Work schedule will follow the Hemlock Public School District?s schedule. Hours will be primarily Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the school year.  During school breaks and during the summer the hours will vary.
