Marysville Police Department: Police Officer Closing Date: March 1, 2024

The City of Marysville is seeking qualified applicants who are highly qualified, and career oriented to the position of Police Officer.

The Police Department serves a population of approximately 10,000 residents within an 8 square mile area.  Marysville is located along the shoreline of the St. Clair River in St. Clair County.  The Marysville Police Department is a 16-member, full service, professional agency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Be 21 years of age.
  • High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Have no felony convictions; misdemeanors will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Possess a valid Michigan Driver?s License with no restrictions or suspensions.
  • Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) licensed or licensable.
  • Be a Citizen of the United States.
  • Successfully complete all phases of the selection process.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • College Degree and/or Military Veteran
  • Advanced Law Enforcement Training
  • Firefighter I&II, EMT/Paramedic license

Summary Of Duties:

Full-time position assigned to 12-hour shifts.  Officers perform responsible law enforcement duties which include the enforcement of all laws and ordinance, prevention, detection, and investigation of crime and traffic accidents. 

Opportunities Include:

Ability to be crossed trained in Fire and EMT/Paramedic (includes a pay increase), K-9 Officer, SWAT, Crisis Negotiation, Drug Task Force, Major Crimes Unit, School Resource Officer, Bike Patrol, Evidence Technician, Field Training Officer, ect.

Salary and Benefits:

  • 68,660 - 80,262 annually. (2024) Top pay in 3 years. (candidates with prior police experience may qualify to start at a higher base wage level)
