Madison Township Police Department: Police Officer Closing Date: February 1, 2025

Madison Charter Township Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. All submissions must contain an applicant resume, and Madison Charter Township employment application. 

Madison Charter Township is a boarding agency to the City of Adrian located in Lenawee County.  The Township is made up of shopping districts, industrial areas, multiple residential subdivisions, 3 different school districts, Lenawee County Airport, Lenawee County Juvenile Detention facility, and agricultural communities.  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Include, but are not limited to): 

• At least 21 years of age.
• Be a United States citizen.
• MCOLES licensed or eligible to be licensed.
• No disqualifying criminal convictions
• Ability to perform the essential job functions of a police officer.
• Must possess a high school diploma.
• Associate degree or bachelors degree is preferable.
• Possess a valid operating license and in good standing.
• Must pass a drug screen, physical, psychiatric exam, and background investigation.
• Successfully complete all phases of the hiring process. 
  
  WAGE AND BENEFITS: 

• Currently working 12-hour shifts.
• Starting wage $24.97 per hour, top out is $28.18 per hour. (Union Contract Negotiation Year)
• 9 paid holidays per year.
• Vacation time and Sick time earned annually along with Compensatory time off.

• Blue Cross / Blue Cross Health Insurance, Dental and Vision care.
• Class B uniforms with outer vest carriers.
• Relaxed grooming standards, allowing for approved facial hair and tattoos.

  Madison Charter Township Police Department operates in a fashion providing Officers with extensive investigative opportunities. Officers are responsible for thoroughly investigating and completing their own cases through the criminal and judicial process.
