APPLICANTS MUST AT TIME OF APPLICATION AND TIME OF HIRE:

  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Possess a valid Michigan Operators license and meet minimum driving requirements.
  • Have successfully completed the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards Training requirements or currently enrolled in a Michigan recognized MCOLES licensed standard Police Academy.
  • Possess the valid Commission on Law Enforcement Standards Certification, in reading, writing, and the Physical Skills Test Battery.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

  • Starting base salary is 60,000 with 2,500 increments every six months until top out of 80,000.
  • January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026 top out changes to 83,500.
  • January 1, 2027 - December 31,2027 top out changes to 87,000.
  • Up to five-year lateral experience pay.
  • 401 retirement (5% employee 10% city) with option of 457B match up to 5%. Medical / Dental benefits, Blue Cross / Blue Care.
  • 12 hour shifts once minimum staffing is met.
