Brownstown Police Department: Police Officer Closing Date: January 16, 2025

The Brownstown Police Department is hiring full time Police Officers. Starting pay after FTO is $24.91 per hour, or $54,403.00 annually. We are offering lateral pay for those with full time current experience up to $36.16 per hour or $78,973.00 annually. Top lateral pay is $80,545.00 annually in 2025.

Brownstown is a growing Community of 33000 residents and covers 23 square miles of land and approximately 8 square miles of Lake Erie. We are looking for motivated, community minded Police Officers who are looking to serve this growing community in southern Wayne County.

We offer a MERS B-4 Defined Benefit Pension with a 2.5 multiplier, Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Benefits, Optical, Dental, paid vacation, personal, and sick days, and have 14 paid Holidays annually. All applicants must be MCOLES licensed/licensable, or currently attending an MCOLES licensed police academy.

Must be a High School Graduate or have obtained a GED. Candidates must also be a United States Citizen, be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and be free of felony convictions. Academy sponsorships may be considered for highly qualified individuals. Non-licensed applicants may apply if they have passed the MCOLES pre-employment written and physical agility test. Candidates must pass an oral interview, a report writing sample, and pass an extensive background investigation to be considered.
