The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety is currently accepting applications to fill immediate vacancies for the position of Public Safety Officer for the Charter Township of Blackman and the Township of Leoni in Jackson County (84 Square Miles).
A candidate must have the abilities to perform all the duties of a Public Safety Officer, which includes that of a Police Officer, Firefighter, and a minimum of Medical First Responder. All applicants must satisfactorily pass oral interviews, a physical exam with drug test, a psychological exam, and a thorough background investigation in order to be considered for employment. The starting salary for Public Safety Officer I’s is $59,853 with a top pay of $82,747, plus a competitive benefit package, including a defined benefit pension plan.
