The Franklin Police Department provides full-service police coverage to both the Village of Franklin and the Village of Bingham Farms. Currently, the department seeks to fill one full-time police officer vacancy to work patrol functions in both Villages. Applicants must have successfully completed 60 semester hours of college credit and be licensed by MCOLES. Preference will be given to those who have prior police experience, but that is not a requirement to apply for the position.
Current salary after four years is $81,267.00, but the contract will be re-negotiated by the end of December 2024 and salaries are anticipated to increase starting in 2025. Current work schedule for patrol is 12-hour shifts. The Village of Franklin provides excellent fringe benefits including medical/dental/optical insurance, retirement health care and a defined benefit retirement plan.
