The Capac Police Department is accepting applications for a full-time and part-time Police Officer. The Capac Police Department offers capable men and women the opportunity to serve the community, protect life and property, and enforce the law. Job Description:
- Enforce the law of the Village of Capac, The State of Michigan, and The United States of America.
- Accept and investigate all calls and complaints.
- Conduct preliminary investigations.
- Conduct follow-up investigations, including interrogation and processing of cases.
- Complete reports and documents as required by the department, ordinance, and statute.
- Attend and provide evidence in court.
- Perform police patrol, prevent crime and disorder, protect life and property, direct traffic, investigate accidents, and enforce motor vehicle parking ordinances and regulations.
- Investigate suspicious activities, apprehend and arrest law violators, gather evidence, and assist in prosecution.
- Serve criminal and civil process, including warrants and subpoenas.
- Perform other duties as required by the Chief of Police or their designated representative.
- Perform all other functions necessary, for the orderly and proper administration of justice, for the Capac Police Department.
- Coordinate operations with other law enforcement agencies and emergency services

Full-time Police Officer starting pay is $24.48 per hour and part-time Police Officer is $22.95 per hour.
Basic Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age at the time of appointment and meet all MCOLES standards.
- Must be MCOLES licensed or licensable.
- Must have a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent experience.
- Must have a valid Michigan Driver's license.
- No Felony convictions. Misdemeanors will be screened on a case-by-case basis.
- Must be a United States citizen.
