Join the Lake Angelus Police Department as a part-time sworn Law Enforcement Officer. This role involves protecting life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. You will perform a variety of police work using community-oriented and problem-solving techniques, including:

  • Community engagement and resource development
  • Enforcement of laws and ordinances
  • Crime prevention, detection, and investigation
  • Apprehension of violators
  • Preservation of order and related police functions

This position may involve hazardous and strenuous tasks, requiring the exercise of initiative and judgment in various situations. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge, confidence, and experience to work independently on each shift and must be available to work any shift, including midnights, afternoons, holidays, and weekends. Strong communication and report writing skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent college credits (60) required at the time of hire Must be MCOLES licensed at the time of hire Marine and/or conservation skills are desired but not necessary Retired officers are encouraged to apply Please email or contact Chief Mike Farley for additional information
