POSITION SUMMARY:
This is general duty police work position in the prevention of crime and the enforcement of both State Laws and Local Ordinances. Persons in this position shall be responsible for maintaining the quality of life for residences, businesses and guests in the 35+/- square miles of Bath Charter Township. Bath Township is located in the S/E corner of Clinton County and just north of and adjacent to both the City of East Lansing and Meridian Township. Interstate I-69 intersects our community which is a mix of residential neighborhoods, apartment complexes and a rural farming community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum qualifications for the position are:
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must have reached 21st birthday at time of appointment
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must possess a minimum Associate's Degree
- Ability to successfully pass an extensive background check, physical examination, psychological examination and drug screening test
- Ability to perform the essential job functions of a police officer
- Must be either certified or certifiable as a police officer by M.C.O.L.E.S. before 09/30/2024.
- Ability to successfully complete all phases of the selection process
