The Village of Constantine Police Department is looking to fill the position of Patrol Officer. The Village of Constantine is located in St. Joseph County with a population of approximately 2,100 residents. The Department consists of a Chief, 1 Sergeant, 3 patrol officers and a school resource officer. The department handles approximately 1,500 calls for service a year. We are busy enough to gain experience however, slow enough to patrol down town on foot or assist at the high school football game.
The Constantine Police Department has been contracted by the Village of Centreville thus doubling our patrol area. Along with patrol, we have officers on the St. Joseph County Major Crimes Task Force as well as spots on the St. Joseph County Special Response Team (SWAT). We have in house trainers IE: Taser, Radar, Pepper Spray, EVOC, firearms and more.
The Village of Constantine has a MERS defined benefit pension retirement with a 2.5 multiplier. Our health insurance is second to none. Pay is negotiable dependent upon previous experience. With max pay reached at 4 years. Officers also receive $150.00 equipment pay yearly. All equipment provided except flashlight and duty boots.
