The Argentine Township Police is seeking qualified candidates for the Position of Full-Time Police Officer, Part-time Police Officer, and School Resource Officer (SRO) Argentine Township located in the southwest corner of Genesee County and borders Livingston, and Shiawassee Counties. Spanning 36.2 square miles serves a population of 7200 residents.
Duties:
Duties include but are not limited to patrolling the township streets and roadways and commercial and residential areas. Preserve the peace, enforce criminal laws, enforce twp. ordinances, traffic laws enforcement, prevent and detect crimes of all types, prepare and complete appropriate investigative and informational reports. The SRO serves the Linden Community School District, high school, middle school and elementary school.
Requirements:
- Must be of good moral character
- Must be licensable as an MCOLES police officer, licensed officers preferred
- Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be a US Citizen
- No felony or disqualifying convictions and pass a comprehensive background investigation
- Must have the ability to complete all phases of the selection process.
Hours Worked:
- 8 hour or 12-hour work schedule including night and weekends
Wages/ Benefits:
- Starting Full-time Officer: $24.02 graduating base hourly $29.16
- 4% increase in pay per current POAM collective bargaining agreement
- (part-time officer wage based on experience)
