The GVSU Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency charged with the responsibility of enforcing the laws of the State of Michigan and University rules and regulations. Sworn police officers patrol and respond to incidents on both the Allendale and Grand Rapids Campuses. Additional services provided by our police department include traffic control, valuable lost and found property, 24 hour non-emergency dispatch, motorist assists, and emergency closing announcements.
JOB SUMMARY:
A sponsored Police Recruit is a Grand Valley State Police Department employee who is sponsored to attend the Grand Valley State University Police Academy. The intended result is promotion to Police Officer upon successful completion of the police academy and licensing by MCOLES. Sponsored Police Recruits will enjoy full-time pay and benefits. The Grand Valley Police Department will cover all tuition and related costs while attending the police academy. This position is for the GVSU Police 2025 Summer Academy, April 28 to August 21, 2025.
