The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is seeking applicants to fill three, full-time road patrol positions. MCOLES licensed officers may start in January, 2025. We are accepting applicants that seek sponsorship for MCOLES licensure for the spring 2025 Northern Michigan University Regional Police Academy.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is the largest county in Michigan in land area the most populous county in the Upper Peninsula. Deputies patrol the County in order to enforce the laws, investigate criminal activities, police crash scenes, respond to domestic and other disputes, and answer requests for variety of services. Performs a variety of functions related to protecting lives and property within the County. May be assigned to the detective division, traffic enforcement, narcotics team, court security, township contracted policing programs, school liaison, or other specialized assignment. May receive specialized training in crash reconstruction, evidence/property management, crime scene processing and other areas. Additional duties include Secondary Road Traffic Enforcement, Airport Security, UPSET (undercover drug team) and Special Operations (Snowmobile, ORV and Marine Safety).
