The Oscoda County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications to fill a vacant full time Deputy Sheriff (Road Patrol) position.
To apply for this position applicants should be MCOLES certified or certifiable.
Starting Wage/Compensation January 1st 2025 is $24.40/Hour (84 hour pay period) plus Healthcare and MERS B-4 Pension retirement. Applicants with prior law enforcement experience will be considered to start at a higher rate of pay depending on experience based on the current union contract. At the end of the current POAM contract, deputies at year 3 would make 27.31 per hour.
A newly hired Deputy without Law Enforcement experience will be given personal time at the time of hire based on the current POAM union contract. A newly hired Deputy with prior law enforcement experience will be considered to receive both personal and vacation time at the time of hire based on the current POAM contract.

Candidates must be MCOLES licensed or eligible for licensing and meet the following departmental requirements:
- 18 years of age
- No prior felony convictions
