MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must demonstrate and maintain proficiency with firearm
- Current or previous law enforcement officer experience preferred
- Must be MCOLES certified or MCOLES certifiable
- Must pass a background, standard police psychological, and drug testing
- Must have working knowledge of the Web, web-based email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) working knowledge or experience with CLEMIS systems a plus
- Ability to work alone when needed
- Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
- Flexibility with work schedule a must
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General patrol functions in the Village
- Respond to all calls for services
- Assist motorist & all citizens
- Engage in Community Policing strategies
- Investigate incidents/accidents and interview victims, witnesses and suspects involved in incidents
- Write required reports
- Enforce traffic regulations
- Appear at all required Court hearings and trials
- Attend Department and outside training as required
- Assist municipal, county and state police agencies when appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
WORK SCHEDULE:
- All shifts, 12 hour and 8-hour shift cycles (7am – 7pm)
- Must be willing to work nights, week-ends and holidays
- STARTING DATE: ASAP

- Starting Pay $26.68 ($27.75 effective 7/1/2025)
- Starting Pay $27.43 with top pay being $34.69 after 3 years
