MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must demonstrate and maintain proficiency with firearm
• Current or previous law enforcement officer experience preferred
• Must be MCOLES certified or MCOLES certifiable
• Must pass a background, standard police psychological, and drug testing
• Must have working knowledge of the Web, web-based email, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) working knowledge or experience with CLEMIS systems a plus
• Ability to work alone when needed
• Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
• Flexibility with work schedule a must

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• General patrol functions in the Village
• Respond to all calls for services
• Assist motorist & all citizens 
• Engage in Community Policing strategies 
• Investigate incidents/accidents and interview victims, witnesses and suspects involved in incidents
• Write required reports
• Enforce traffic regulations
• Appear at all required Court hearings and trials
• Attend Department and outside training as required
• Assist municipal, county and state police agencies when appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

WORK SCHEDULE: 

• All shifts, 12 hour and 8-hour shift cycles (7am – 7pm)
• Must be willing to work nights, week-ends and holidays
• STARTING DATE:  ASAP

BENEFITS:

• Starting Pay $26.68 ($27.75 effective 7/1/2025)
• Starting Pay $27.43 with top pay being $34.69 after 3 years
